https://youtu.be/pvYqORZaxe4 My comment:It is good as far as it goes. There seem to be some issues that are neglected. One of these is the internal life of the groups involved. As an example I would point out a relatively recent concept; the so called American exceptionalism. This has been mentioned by various American politicians and seems to be prevalent among many Americans. I think that there are similar things in caste groups. One of these is mentioned by Johannes Bronkhorst in ‘How the Brahmins won’. Through a period of reflection when they lost power, the Brahmins focussed on their internal life and much of their literature during that period was focussed on their internal life. They developed attitudes which helped them with loss of power and attitudes which helped them cope and keep their feeling of superiority(?’). This led to them being exampled to others too, probably resulting in some sort of sanskritisation. Thesecond point neglected is the the development of internal discipline; for example in the oral transmission of vedas over centuries and the corresponding attitudes that resulted in the particular group. Even if they did not understand what was transmitted, the discipline and ritual of repetition with exact pronounciation must have had long term effects.
