Teaching problems

From
CNN :
"During lectures, they answer their cell phones, text message their friends and play games on their laptop computers.

Are college students really that rude?

Yes, says Delaney Kirk, a professor of management at Drake University in Des Moines.

But, she adds, it's not their fault.

"It's the same behavior we're seeing in the rest of society," Kirk says. "There's a general lack of social skills.""

Could it be lack of role models? And what we see on TV and newspapers everyday? Profits, market economy?

Kuffir,
Jhansi (Lakshmi) is my wife's name. Vidya and Leela are her sisters and Sreedevi is Leela's daughter. Leila is Lalita's (our first daughter's daughter). Sambasiva Rao and I grew up together. He is from my mother's village and comes from a Kummari family. My mother encouraged him to study. He and his wife becames nursing assistants in the army. One of his sons is a captain now and the other is in IT working in USA at the moment. The school complex in Gudavalli-Nadimpalli is mostly funded my Kodali brothers and built on their land.in honour of their parents. It is called Nayudamma Foundation or some such thing. Two of them are doctors and practice in Cherukupalli. My father used to be the Head Master of Gudavalli High School in theearly days and my brother married in that village. We take interest in the work there and the library is named after my mother who used to be avid reader.
If health and finances permit, I hope to get internet facilities to the library and add one or two guest rooms to the old people's home so that visitors who want to study villages can spend some time there.
I am also taking some interest in Ankuram and Phoenix foundation in twin cities. But these are minor long distance contributions which do not involve hard work or serious commitment. Regards,
swarup

Hello Sir,
I am a girl from Gudavalli and came across your blog mentioning of the village. I started my education in Board High school only briefly and went to Koteswaramma's Montessori Convent.

It is nice to see your postings.

Thanks,
